„Małe Dzieje” (‘Little History’) We commenced our activity in Polish émigré society in London five years ago. The projects completed between 2005 and 2010 were responses to the requirements of this unique society, but they also testify to our general interests and working methods. The exploration and popularization of local identity has a universal character. The experience we gained in UK, where local history is a widely practised and appreciated social and |
intellectual activity, provided us with an excellent foundation on which to continue our work in our Homeland. After returning to Poland we were able to establish Workshop in a more formal shape. The services we offer include: writing monographs of cities, provinces, companies, associations etc.; writing and compiling biographies, genealogies, and family histories; the editing of diaries, journals, and memoirs, the recording and writing of oral history; archival research, and the arrangement of archives (for families, firms, and institutions). We also popularize local history through a rich variety of media: newsletters, magazines, leaflets, books, lectures, exhibitions, conferences, historical walks, and educational pathways. |
